Lois Stout of Alpine, Utah is an award-winning violinist, conductor and teacher. Lois has over 65 years teaching and conducting experience in Canada, the Eastern U.S. and Utah. She holds a master's degree in violin performance. Lois spent years performing with the Baltimore Symphony and freelanced for many years in the Washington, D.C. area. She began teaching and conducting during this time. Lois is famous for her magic trick – turning young musicians into artists! Lois presently maintains a large private studio of advanced violin students. Her students have been awarded over $1,250,000 in scholarships, to date. Although very proud of all her violin students, she maintains that her greatest accomplishments are her 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

- Tauno Hannikainen. Tauno conducted the Helsinki Symphony, the Chicago Symphony and was the conductor at the funeral of famous composer, Sibelius.
- Raphael Druian. Raphael was the former concertmaster of three major symphony orchestras, the New York Philharmonic, the Minnesota Orchestra, and the Cleveland Symphony.
- Clifford Berge. Clifford was a violinist in the Chicago Symphony.
- Vernal Richardson. Vernal was Assistant Concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony, a college professor, and studied with Gingold at Indiana U.

Conducting Accomplishments:
- Lois founded the FAME (For the Advancement of Music Ensembles) Orchestra of Maryland, which was invited to perform at the International String Conference in Graz, Austria.
- Lois co-founded the Baltimore String Music Camp.
- Lois founded the Timpanogos Chamber Orchestra, which later expanded to three orchestras, senior, junior, and intermediate.
- Lois founded the Timpanogos Festival Orchestra and Chorus and conducts its yearly production of The Messiah, with a 105-voice choir, full orchestra, and professional soloists.
- In 1999 Ms. Stout co-founded the Timpanogos String Camp.

It's easy to see why Lois was adored by Engelbert Humperdinck & Glen Campbell while playing at their shows. Lois played in orchestras during USO engagements with Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope. Lois was one of the first women - and often the only woman - playing freelance violin in orchestras.
